Mark Suffolk, the owner of Suffolk Pointe Company, has a passion for pointe shoes and a passion for doing business in an ethical manner. He is a firm believer in fair trade and insures everyone that touches a pair of his pointe shoes during manufacturing earns a wage that allows a good standard of living. Suffolk Pointe Shoes are made in Leicester, England, an hour train ride North of London, with premium materials, premium design, and premium workmanship. Mark initially studied to be an engineer and puts his education to work in his manufacturing. He entered the world of pointe shoemaking in 1982, and has been on the quest to perfect the shoe every day since. Suffolk Pointe Company began in 2000 based on Mark’s desire to design and create for dancers. The making of the shoe itself is pure labor. Like a dancer that expresses her artistry through movement, the shoemaker expresses his artistry through craftsmanship. Suffolk has earned its reputation based on their line of stock pointe shoes, and their bespoke shoes due to their attention to detail.
